Norco is a city in Riverside County California - just north of Corona in the Inland Empire.  As of the 2000 census, the population of the city was a little over 24,000.  The city's name is an abbreviation of "North Corona."

Norco was once primarily agricultural and it has remained true to its Western heritage. Located in Riverside County’s “Inland Empire” along the Santa Ana River and adjoining Orange County. The “Old Town” area features country stores and horse properties with a large network of horse trails. The entire community has more than 88 miles of bridle trails and the entire Santa Ana River basin for riding. The area to the north along Interstate 15, formerly home to numerous cattle farms and dairy operations, is rapidly being taken over by new housing and retail developments.

The major employers in Norco are Corona-Norco Unified School District with over 5200 employees, the California Rehabilitation Center with over 1100 employees and the Naval Surface Warfare Center with over 1000 employees.

Norco, or Horsetown, USA is a horse community with only a few sidewalks in the city; instead there are horse trails. Riders can ride to town and tie their horses at the many hitching rails and corrals placed close to businesses. There are many associations that are a part of the city, including the Norco Horsemen's Association and the Norco Junior Horsemen's Association.
